Thanks to everyone who got involved in the first round of 2017, it was great to continue where we left off last year with five groups and lots of matches being played. Congratulations to the new group champions and we hope to see you all back in the next round for more tennis in the warmer temperatures and longer days!
Group Summary:
Daniel retains his crown with another dominant performance, that's now ten matches unbeaten and two titles to Daniel's name - he couldn't have asked for a better start to his tennis league career! Can anyone stop Daniel in the next round? Tony battled through tight tussles with Chris, Eric and Omurchadu to finish with three victories and improve on his performance from last time in taking second spot.

Tony Minichiello bt Chris Moore (Feb 19) 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1Group Summary:
Pierre puts us in no doubt as to who the winner of this group is as finishes five wins to the good to pull well clear of the field. However, the race for second place couldn't have been more different with four of the remaining five players tying on four points each. A trip to the rulebook is therefore in order and after several calculations applying the eliminator method it is George who takes the silver thanks to fewer sets conceded on average per match played. Well played all!

Maud and Richard both finished the round with an impressive four wins to their name but this was not enough to top the podium. Maud won her head to head with Richard to take the silver. Great stuff!

Congratulations to David who notched up four straight victories and bonus points to boot to stroll past the finishing line in first place. Runner up Pete made sure David didn't have it all his own way, fighting back to take their head to a decider but he couldn't quite last the distance to take the win.
