Collapse AllWaterlow Park Singles - Round 24 | Thursday 15 February 2018 to Wednesday 18 April 2018 (Midpoint: Sunday 18 March 2018)

Waterlow Park put in a great effort this round to play over two thirds of all possible matches! Some great tennis skills shone through so well done on a great time had by all. Here's to the spring into summer round - hope you can play!

Group Summary:

Jeremy won the title in this group after some great matches were played including an epic three set battle against Tony which featured it all - two tie breaks and a 7-5 set mixed in there. Unfortunately Jeremy came on the losing end of this one but did manage to pick up his bonus points as well as the point for the set won in that match, which helped him secure his title. The match itself (Jeremy actually had five match points) lasted three and a half hours and was played over two days. Second place went to George who was able to narrowly beat the champion which featured a very close first set! Congratulations also to Tony for his incredible perseverance and being the only player who was undefeated.

Group Summary:

Congratulations to Stephen who was the only player in this group to remain undefeated , a feat which helped him to secure his title! It was close though as Robert finished on the same amount of points, but as he lost his head to head against Stephen he has to make do with a very well-deserved runner up spot. Players struggled for matches and bonus points during this round and we're sure the weather didn't help. A big welcome to Joshua who only just missed out on a podium finish and welcome back to Stephan and to David who was the only one in the group to earn his bonus points.

Group Summary:

Alan was our undisputed winner of Group 3 after managing to play and beat everyone in the group without the loss of a single set - a fantastic first round for our newcomer! Tom actually finished on the same number of points as Alan but lost their head to head so he finished a very well deserved runner up. A special mention to Pete and Amy who appeared to have a real battle on their hands as they were locked at 1 set all but ran out of time so were unable to finish. Pete's old coach is pleased to see him still battling out there on the Waterlow Park courts in his absence! A big welcome to Helle, Amy and Alan who all put in some great effort in their first rounds: here's to the next!
