- "Another brilliant match in this group. Winston is such a tough opponent, leaves you absolutely zero margin for error, drop short and he punishes you. First set my serve tipped the balance, second set ebbed and flowed and ended in an epic tie break. Cheers for a great game." -- Jan
Player Comments:
- "Roberto is another player in this group who hits a massive ball, great ground strokes and strong serve. 2 really tight sets decided by a few close games. Cheers!" -- Jan
Player Comments:
- "Playing against Muhammad is a pleasure. This time around I had the edge but you know that he has lots of shots in his repertoire plus he is a great guy. Pity it had to rain as we had both chosen tonight as it was the best day without rain for the week. Even so there were good shots coming off both rackets as expected. We both have also entered the Docklands league so we may get to meet up again. Thanks again Muhammad and catch up again hopefully soon." -- Winston
- "Teeming down with rain and winston put on a supreme display of skill and agility in the wet conditions. Well played winston a well deserved victory," -- Muhammad
Player Comments:
- "Really high quality match, which if I’m honest I was lucky to scrape through. Andrew came out and winners were flying off his forehand wing, I managed to hang in there and steal both sets with a couple of tight breaks in each set. Would love a rematch sometime! Cheers for the game. " -- Jan
Player Comments:
- "A match which reminded us why they put a roof on centre court...played in howling winds, it was a case of who could control the conditions better. Fortunately for me Devanshu just couldn’t get his massive ground game working and I just ground out games hustling around the court. Thanks for the game!" -- Jan
Player Comments:
- "Fantastic matchup, Mo is a fiercely competitive player, he moves brilliantly and has a really solid all round game. Took my absolute best to get past him, great match!" -- Jan
Player Comments:
- "Nice game mate, very close last two sets " -- Devanshu
Group Summary:
There were aces from Nick, effective lobs from David, great rallies between Tony and Paul, serve and volleying from Jonathan and pacey serves from Keng. Like group one, it was a really competitive group but Tony took gold with some conviction, dropping just one set in 5 matches, finishing 3 points ahead of runner up Keng. Great stuff!

While the windy and wet condition today was not ideal, it was nonetheless an enjoyable match with Keng hitting some very pacey serves and fantastic volleys. Thanks for the match man and see you soon! Group Summary:
This was a great group for many reasons; partly the high number of matches played, all of which came with a friendly commentary. But also for the quality of the tennis. If it wasn't Seb's serve, it was Lida's angles, Andreas's ball placement or Ynda's determination. In a great come back ( 1-6, 1-4 down), Sebastian beat Ynda, but Ynda's combination of great scheduling and commitment, playing 7 matches in total, wins the day! Congratulations!

- "A nice fresh morning, great way to start the day, first set was played with great shots from both of us but Sebastian had a hidden weapon his SERVE, strong and powerful. Second set i had taken the lead with 5 games ahead and thinking of taking the set, but a great come back from Sebastian rallying to every shot.... great game Sebastian and Thank You for the game" -- Amrat

- "Great match with Sebastian, with some unbelievable points, lots of breaks of serve and too many lobs. Two hours were not enough to decide a winner and at our second meeting it could go either way, but luckily I managed to get the win. I really enjoyed the match, hope we have the chance to play again in the future." -- Andreas
Player Comments:
- "Fantastic match! On a perfect, bright, warm November Sunday, we played a tight match. Andreas is a good player and would play winners and have a good ball placement. In the end, a little lack of variety when playing on the baseline costed him the match, but it was definitely very enjoyable on both sides. Well done! " -- Giuseppe
Player Comments:
- "Amid the inclement weather, we had a nice match, Lida was pushing to come back and as she got more consistency after the first half of the first set, we played long rallies and had some nice points. It was a pleasure to play her." -- Giuseppe
Player Comments:
- "Really fun game despite the windy weather, not to mention that one incredibly long game with what felt like a hundred deuces! " -- Mia
Player Comments:
- "A testing match played through windy weather, which proved a challenge to read and adjust to. From a set and 4-1 down, Andreas remained resolute to mount a great comeback and take the lead in the second at 5-4, before another turnaround brought the match to a close." -- Ynda
Player Comments:
- "Exhilarating match with all-court play. From 6-1 4-1 down, Sebastian took the second set 6-4 and continued the run of games to 3-0 in the third through hard work, variety and some killer first serves. After a slight return to form, things were back level at 3-3, but Sebastian snuck ahead once more taking it to 5-3. From there a break each saw Sebastian take the third and final set 6-4." -- Ynda
Player Comments:
- "Nice match, the score doesn't reflect the long, fought-trough games. I really enjoyed it." -- Giuseppe
Player Comments:
- "Fun match with lots of deuce games! Amrat has some good variety, with challenging pace and low balls thrown in at key moments. " -- Ynda
Group Summary:
We thought groups 1-3 played a high percentage of matches but that was before we saw how committed everyone was in group 4! Every singles match was played by everyone except Declan who, unfortunately, didn't get going at all! Hope you are ok! MG's description of 'some hit-and-hope shots as well as a few swing-and-miss shots' made us smile - who has not been there! - but it was Vitalii who came through the most matches successfully to win the group, with Mirco a very close second just one point behind! Well done all!

- "The most ridiculous match in swirling 20mph winds and a torrential downpour for most of a 52-minute first set. No rain delays at Stratford; we played on despite the heavy balls, greasy surface, and grips that had long since gone. Jasmine raced to a 5-1 lead, helped by some nice net play and far too many wayward shots from me. As the wind dropped for a short spell, I got back to 5-5 with some well-placed lobs and passing shots to counter Jasmine's desire to dominate the net. Saved two set points at 6-5 down, and came back from 4-2 down in the tiebreak. The weather wasn't so tough in set two, but still saw 7 breaks of serve. Far from vintage tennis, but still fun in a crazy way. Thanks for the hit, Jasmine! Best of luck in the next round!" -- MG

Player Comments:
- "Arguably the worst court conditions I've ever played. Court surface at West Ham Park was full of fallen leaves and was so dirty that the new balls literally turned completely black in just 15 minutes of play! Otherwise it was very tense match and I look forward to continue it." -- Vitalii
Player Comments:
- "A fun, close hit with Karuna on a freezing cold day at Stratford that lasted 1h43m! The cold played a part as both of us struggled with serve and most of the first set went to deuce with the first three games going to the receiver. From 3-1 up, the match went with serve to 5-3 before a lengthy final game with five deuces that ended with an unfortunate double fault by Karuna. The second set was similar to the first, more deuce games galore and Karuna couldn’t capitalize on a break while 2-1 up. At 3-2 down, a bad service game from Karuna, and a hold after saving two break points, gave me a 5-2 lead that was cut back to 5-4 before I took the match on second set point. Thanks for the hit, and best of luck for your remaining games!" -- MG
