  • "Gareth was always unsure whether it was a good idea to risk playing. He decided it wasn't worth the risk of hindering recovery from a previous injury. I understand."  -- Dean

Player Comments:

  • "An absolute epic match- some of the longest rallies I’ve been involved in..four seasons in a rally - relentless. Great fun but should think James and I will need plenty of R&R. James played very consistently and took a tight first set - I managed to pull out a run of games to take the second set and prevailed in a match tiebreak as the sun set- thanks for a great game!"  -- Paul

Player Comments:

  • "Epic and exhausting. Played at the lovely Herne Bay courts but took me a while to get used to the (slow) speed. James pretty easily won the first set, being a machine at the net and making very few mistakes. He makes you work for every single point. Second sey I dug in and survived one match point. The tie break went my way and the third set was only marginally easier as we both gotvtired. Great game with a lovely fella. Thanks James."  -- Dean

The best way to improve. I enjoyed the game and was looking forward to some powerful rallies before injury struck. Hope you get back to playing soon. Dean"  -- Dean
