Player Comments:
- "Very slippery conditions for a dry day. Some good rallies and a lot of brakes up to 4-5 when I managed to brake again to make it in two sets. " -- Andres
Player Comments:
- "Very wet conditions meant the ball was skidding off the surface. I think I handled the slice a bit better than Phil, on this occasion. It was a close match with just a crucial point here and there." -- Zane
Player Comments:
- "Relatively placid conditions for a change! Some great rallies, and I nearly bottled it on set and match points. Got there in the end though. Good game!" -- Will
Player Comments:
- "As tight as the score suggests - some great rallies and winners in the first set followed by a scrappier second. Lucky to pull through in 2!" -- Tom
Player Comments:
- "A tight match with endless deuces - luckily I squeezed through in the second set as Zane took me apart in the friendly third we played!" -- Tom
Player Comments:
- "It wasn't as easy as it looks. Zane positions himself very well in the court and he knows what he is doing. However, I managed to break his serve early in both sets, and that gave me a bit of confidence to play my game: quite aggressive and with no mistakes this time. Good to see you back Zane. Andres" -- Andres
Player Comments:
- "A tricky match in testing conditions with snow and drizzle. Some close games and excellent rallies. Well played, Will. All the best for the rest of your matches!" -- David
Player Comments:
- "Another tough one with Phil in unpleasant cold conditions. In the the 2nd. set I managed to defend Phil's attacks and break back his serve at 4-4. Still not enough to hold his aggressive winners and make it through the tie break. I broke his serve at the beginning of the 3rd. set but we ran out of time with him serving 1-4." -- Andres

- "Another epic long match against Tom. He is a great guy to play with. We both always enjoy our tiring matches but without stress and enjoying our best tennis. In the first set I couldn't handle his powerful serve and forehand winners. At 1-4 I threw the towel in to concentrate on what to do in the second one. I was more aggressive from the begining of the 2nd. one and attacking the net but not able to brake until 4-3. We were both tired and trying to hold for a definitive 3rd. set. I managed Tom's serve much better than earlier in the match and always attacked his weakest points. I'm happy for the win but really it could've gone either way like always with Tom. Thank you!" -- Andres

Richard's excellent form continues - another five wins makes it ten matches unbeaten and he also adds the group two title to his name. Can anyone stop Richard's charge? Despite the setback of losing his first match to Richard, Alex bounces back well to win four straight matches and take the runner up prize. A special mention to Henry who was the only person to play all of his matches - fantastic effort Henry!

I was up in the second one by 3-0, but Joshua started playing really well and very aggressive and managed to come back. He served to win the set with 5-4 and 6-5 but I managed to break both times. Player Comments:
- "On a mild yet damp Wednesday evening, the setting couldn't have started better. In a challenging first set with multiple breaks of serve I was able to edge past Alfie with a couple of lucky breaks. The 2nd set was much quicker and we enjoyed a third for fun as we had nearly an hour of time on the court available (I won 6-0 which was nice!). Alfie is a great player and on another day might have won, or at least pushed us to the third set. Many thanks & good luck with the other matches." -- Ryan

- "On a cold evening, we opted to play indoor at David Lloyd on a nice warm carpet court! As always Matt is a fantastic guy to play, and the first set lasted over an hour without a single beak of serve. The late night kicked in and I was able to gain a quick lead in the second set. Due to the length of the first set with agreed a championship tie-break (first to 10) rather than playing a full third set, and I was glad to keep the momentum of the second set. As always, thanks to Matt for another great battle & good luck with the rest of the group." -- Ryan
Group Summary:
A spectacular performance from Daniele who was in a league of his own as he cruised through five matches losing very few games - promotion beckons! It was much tighter affair between the rest of the group and Courtney in particular was involved in a number of close contests. Courtney may not have won them all, but those fighting qualities on show won him more than enough points to take second place.

- "What a great match. It was a very competitive match than scoreline reflects. Courtney got an early break & kept the advantage till 4-3 when I broke back to level at 4 all but Courtney broke my serve right away and served out the 1st set to win by 6-4 saving 2 break points. I was then able turn the match around & sprinted to 4-0 lead before Courtney broke my serve to get on board but I still managed to win the 2nd set comfortably by 6-2. We only had 20 mins left so we decided to play a mini set first to 4 games or 3 all mini tie break first to 5 points with at least 2 points difference. Overall match had very long deuce games & long rallies. Shame that we had to play mini tie break at 2 all as opposed to 3 all which I won by 5-3" -- Aizaz Ahmed

Paul got off the start line quickly, playing and winning three matches in the first week to set a marker to the rest. But we didn't see Paul on court again and this allowed Nik to catch up and join Paul on eight points at the top. Unfortunately for Nik, Paul's fast start included a victory in their head to head, so it is Paul who takes the crown and Nik settles for silver - well played both!

All but one match was played in a fantastic group 6 and this only ever adds to the excitement of who will finish where. Douglas emerges as the champion with six wins, but with four of these going the distance this could have been anyone's group. Fair play to Douglas for holding his nerve and finding his best tennis when he needed it. Juan's path to second place was much more straightforward with five straight set wins setting him well on the way, but Douglas just had too much to win ultimately the title deciding match.

Bart notches up another incredible seven wins to earn maximum points for the second round in a row - who will end Bart's winning streak? This performance from Bart puts space between himself and the rest of the field, however there was little to choose between Mihai and Nicolas in the battle for second. Their head to head may have been one of the first matches of the round but it had a big say in the final standings - Mihai got the better of Nicolas in two tight sets and this victory sends him above Nicolas into silver.

Mitchell and Byron led the way in the standings and on the court in this round, playing some excellent tennis to pick up win after win. The head to head between the two provided us with the tightest tussle of the group and it was Mitchell who kept those nerves at bay to win the match tie-break by the smallest of margins 10-8. Well done to Brendan who was the only player to earn his bonus points and prize with great scheduling skills.

Group Summary:
It was all plain sailing for Will on the court in this round, as he drops only a handful of games on his way to the number one spot. It wasn't quite so easy for some of the other players in the group who had to battle the weather as well as their opponents - kudos to Louise and Candy and Michael and Jack for getting their matches played in less than ideal conditions. Louise also displayed some fine form to finish as runner up.

- "A hard fought Match in the bitter cold." -- Michael
Player Comments:
- "Candy & I feel we should perhaps get some bonus points for playing in a horrible wind - one end when you hit it like Serena Williams, it ended up as a drop shot & the other end, you aimed for a drop shot & it hit the back fence!! Still, despite all that, a really enjoyable game - at least the sun shone!" -- Louise
Group Summary:
The commentaries revealed lots of players enjoying their matches in this group which we always love to see. At the business end of the group Johan recorded a clean sweep of victories to put us in no doubt as to who the winner is. Gill also showed fine form to finish with four wins and the runner up prize. A shout out to Jane who seemed to be involved in the majority of the close contests in this round - a great effort!
