Collapse AllWimbledon Park Women's Singles - Round 8 | Thursday 11 April 2019 to Wednesday 5 June 2019 (Midpoint: Wednesday 8 May 2019)
Sixty per cent of all possible matches were played this round which is very respectable and many were rewarded with sunshine. Some hard fought matches, great come backs and old rivalries made this a very enjoyable round to read about. So glad you had fun and hope to see you back next time.
A very convincing win for Rachel who played every available match, won three of them and was the only person to get bonus points! Many congratulations. Runner up Louise (the defending champ) was the only player to beat her in what was apparently their usual battle, though kudos to Leila for coming back from 1-5 down in the first set in their match. Some good encounters elsewhere and lovely match reports. Many thanks to all.

Zane and Isobel finished neck and neck, both earning 5 points after winning 2 matches and leaving one (their head to head!) unfinished and fittingly 6-4, 4-6! So we really had to dig out the rule book for this one. The penultimate criteria (just before we toss a coin) is who conceded fewest games on average per matches played. That means Zane pips Isobel at the post, but very well done to both. A shame not to see anything from Weiwei this round. Hope you are ok.
- Zane Baring 9.2 [W2, UF1] 5 WINNER
- Isobel Stephen 8.2 [W2, UF1] 5 RUNNER UP
- Jane Hansen 9.1 [W1, L2] 2
- Sarah Stephens 10.2 [L3]
- Weiwei Xu 10.1
