Player Comments:

  • "Second time playing Eldin and another close match. I had more consistency in the first but he hit some excellent serves and winners. The second set was very close but I just about came through it. I hope we get to play again in the future. Thanks for the game, Eldin."  -- Richard
Reveal CommentTom Bird bt ELDIN BASIC (Nov 17) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyable match played in good winter conditions. Eldin has a decent serve and forehand and made a number of winners throughout the match. I was able to stay in the points longer from the baseline and Eldin was making errors which cost him. Looking forward to our next match. "  -- Tom
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt James Cumming (Nov 15) 6-3, 2-6, [10-8]

Player Comments:

  • "James and I have played twice before and both matches were very close, so I knew what to expect! Today's match had lots of momentum swings, with him nearly coming back in the first set then dominating the second. James had control in the match tie break at 7-3 but a few misses allowed me back in and I was lucky to take the match. Thanks for another good game, James."  -- Richard
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt David Crowley (Nov 13) 7-5, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "My second match against David and he gave me a very tough game. I was fortunate to win the first set as he served well and hit some lovely shots. The second set was also closer than the score suggests. A great Saturday morning runaround. Thanks, David."  -- Richard
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Tom Bird (Nov 11) 6-1, 3-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Second time playing Tom and I feel very fortunate to have won. The courts were quite slippery and it took him a while to adapt to the conditions, which allowed me to win the first set. After that, Tom took control of the match and comfortably won the second set. The third was an inconsistent set which I just about managed to win. Thanks for the match and I look forward to playing again. Always a good workout!"  -- Richard
Reveal CommentTom Bird bt Thomas Bracey (Nov 4) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Our match was played in unique conditions as we were surrounded by firework displays, something which I hadn’t experienced before. This led to debris and gunpowder on the court which made movement slightly difficult at times. Nonetheless we still had a decent game. Tom hadn’t played in awhile but you could see he had solid technique and we played some good points. Looking forward to our next hit in calmer conditions. "  -- Tom

Player Comments:

  • "The game was thoroughly enjoyable and a highly competitive affair. Conditions were damp yet this didn't stop some smashing strokes from being played by both parties. In the middle of our match play had to be stopped when the floodlights went out, talk about postponement was soon in the air. Yet, much like the tennis that had been played on the court, the floodlights were soon full of life; and the epic match continued. However, due to this unfortunate delay, time was against us to finish. It soon became apparent that we needed to up our pace in between points, and that we did. Remarkably, the quality in tennis didn't drop, some of our best rallies came after this delay, resulting in highly competitive sets that could have gone either way."  -- Joel
