- "Couldn't believe it but we found a 2 hour gap in the storms and for the match played, in what was nice conditions. Very good and close match between us. First set I managed to get out ahead early can hold through. Same happen in the second, but Ronald dug deep to save 3 match points (2 on his serve and 1 on mine) and sent to a tie break. Very close again, but just came out on top. Some great shots played from both and good change up of play. Would love to get a speed gun on that Ronald 1st serve though....phew!!" -- David

- "I went into this game fully expecting it to be brief - a quick victory for Mirko based on when we'd played previously. The courts were damp initially following overnight rain which meant the first set was reasonably slow and played to my strengths allowing me to win 6:1 despite numerous deuces along the way. By the 2nd set the courts had dried out and the pace picked up considerably. Mirko was back on form and I struggled to win the 2nd game allowing Mirko to take the 2nd set with confidence. We were well over 90 minutes in as we went into the 3rd set and a mixture of bloody determination and lucky was on my side allowing me to win the 3rd set and secure the match. An hard fought game all round which could easily have gone the other way" -- Mark

Elaine played some lovely stuff - punishing me with deft lobs whenever I came in, drop shots which left me standing watching from the baseline, and getting me so out of position in some rallys that she had the whole court to aim at. Do not let Elaine take charge in a rally, it will not end well! The first set was a lot closer than the score suggests. (The 2nd set never happened, no, I don't want to talk about it...) Somehow I found my focus in the 3rd set and took a lead that proved decisive. Afterwards, Elaine complemented my backhand??! I don't think anyone has ever done this! Great match, great fun.
