Original dates: Thursday 27 February 2020 to Wednesday 22 April 2020 (Midpoint: Wednesday 25 March 2020)

Sadly the Coronavirus crisis overtook this round. Even though some great matches were played, the round didn't make it to the midpoint and the competition was abandoned. Bonus point prizes were of course honoured and qualifying matches sent to the LTA for the purpose of BTM ratings, but this round will have no group winners. Instead, all players receive a round credit and are encouraged to join the next or a future round. Can't wait to get back on court and all players will be notified of new rounds starting!

Player Comments:

  • "Ironically, given this year's guff weather so far, this match was highly influenced by the sunshine at one end of the court. I think my Neanderthal brow protected me a little better. Our tennis was nothing to shout about but I think we both served pretty well and Kevin hit a few cracking forehands, especially in the first set. I'd imagine the error count was pretty high overall though. "  -- Blair

Reveal CommentAleksandar Odaybat bt Mick Mooney (Mar 16) 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Great game with Mick at Kelvingrove! Great rallies, both of us hit some great shots, unfortunately, because of the slightly windy weather both of us couldn't enhance our full level. I think I manage to clutch more of the key moments during the game which helped me as well as some decent serves. Really close game as the only difference was 1 break in each of the two sets! Should play sometimes with you again soon! --Alex"  -- Aleksandar
Reveal CommentAleksandar Odaybat bt Charles Cameron (Mar 14) 3-6, 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great hit with Charles at Queens Park. Weather could have been nicer but we both adjust and it was all fine. The game lasted for 97 minutes as there were some great long rallies and a couple of deuces. My first game of the league wasn't to be as Charles played really solidly, I was kinda rushing and could find any rhythm while Charles made some great shots and maintained consistent level. In the second set, I have changed the game plan and started to build the points slowly without rushing and going to the net that much. Gradually I started to build confidence and eventually managed to found my forehand which was decisive. On to the third, I kept doing what I had to and turn out to close the game: 3:6, 6:1, 6:2! Hope to play again -- Alex"  -- Aleksandar

Reveal CommentEwan Wilson bt Angus Cowe (Mar 16) 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4)

Player Comments:

  • "Where do I start Angus. One of the most exciting matches i have played in. I edged a closely fought firt set 6 3. Angus started serving very well and wi made amazing retrievals and deserved the 2nd set 6 3. Third set I led briefly after going a break up led by 2 1 which Angus levelled and broke and completely deserved to go ahead 4 2. I broke back only for Angus to find himself serving for the match at 5 3. I managed to break back but found myself 4 5 love 40 and got very luck on the 3rd Match point. The drama contined into game 12 at 5 6 Angus deservedly created 3 more match points and by luck, by good fortune and perhaps some experience I pulled through to a lottery of a TB. Angus deserved to win. Lady luck certainly smiled on me."  -- Ewan
