Reveal CommentGuillaume De Cremoux bt Matthew Strachan (Jul 25) 4-6, 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "The tide turned a couple of times in this hard fought 2 hours 20 match. I led by 4-1 in the first set, then Matt came back and led by 6/4 3/1, then back to me (one set all; 3/1 in the decider), and Matt came back again to lead 4/3 and be close to 5/3. It seems the dices rolled on my side at the end. It was an intense match; lots of winners or unforced errors and tactical changes on each side all over the match."  -- Guillaume
Reveal CommentRobin Soudj bt Adam Baron (Jul 25) 7-5, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "First set was very close . Adam top spin got me into trouble , especially on the fast synthetic grass at craigmillar park . Fortunately I managed to break at 5-5 to secure the 1st set . Second one was not as quality and Adam admitted he was tired . My serve worked well and helped me a lot today . Thanks Adam "  -- Robin

Reveal CommentGuillaume De Cremoux bt Sam Harvey (Jul 14) 6-4, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Sam can hit any winner on both sides from the baseline, so I had to accept to see many balls passing without catching them. At 5/4, he had 2 points to come back 5/5, but he committed 4 unforced errors that gave me the set. The second set was lower quality; lot of errors on each side but I was more consistent and played more defensive. Happy to get away with this score against a player who technically was better."  -- Guillaume

Reveal CommentRobin Soudj bt Matthew Strachan (Jul 11) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great match up against Matt this morning at the meadows . the popular phrase ‘ there were many close games that could have gone either way ‘ is a perfect summary of our match . Happy it went my way more often than not . Matt is a very consistent player who makes you work real hard for every points . In the second set as I ran away 4-0 on the scoreboard Matt kept fighting , going on every balls . In the end only a couple of points in my favour got me the victory . Thanks for the great game Matt . "  -- Robin
Reveal CommentGuillaume De Cremoux bt Adam Baron (Jul 8) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Very good conditions: no sun and no wind; not too hot. The game was even and it was difficult to cope with Adam's tricky spins on both sides. But I served very well and it gave me a decisive advantage,"  -- Guillaume
Reveal CommentGuillaume De Cremoux bt Alan Seywright (Jul 4) 6-1, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Heavy and humid conditions, and we both were suffering from mild injuries. Alan could not get really into the match and gave many points. I hope next time we play a better quality contest."  -- Guillaume
Reveal CommentGuillaume De Cremoux bt Robin Soudj (Jun 27) 7-5, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "The decider was the first set; Robin played well and consistently and was close to win it, but lost momentum at the wrong time and could not get back in the match thereafter. I am happy to come back after 2 years of injury and covid; this win is a premium as I did not expect that when starting the match against an opponent who was much better at the beginning. Player Comments:

  • "An epic match!! The first set was really close with some really long rallies, Alan did a good job of moving me around and managed to sneak the set. Alan went up 3-1 in the second but I managed to fight my way back to take the second 6-3. By that point Alan was starting to suffer a little in the heat and not able to chase down as many balls so the third set was over quite quickly. A really decent match overall. Thanks for the game Alan! :) "  -- Michael

Last time we met, David beat me without too much difficulty, but home advantage perhaps made the difference on this occasion. The first set swung backwards and forwards, each of us taking turns to win three games at a time until I managed to edge it in the twelfth game.. In the second set David raced into a 3-0 leave, but then perhaps began to tire, as I found a better rhythm. A really enjoyable morning, David.
