Player Comments:

  • "Great match with Pawel on a drizzly but playable day at Murrayfield. I had the home court advantage but Pawel still got off to a quick 3-1 lead in the first set. I clawed back to take it, and I found my timing in the second set as I was more accustomed to the synthetic grass than Pawel was. Overall, a lot of long rallies and great points all around. Thanks Pawel, really enjoyed playing, and hope we can hit again soon. "  -- John

  • "An incredibly tough match played in what can only be described as extreme conditions...! Sideways rain and gusty winds made it very difficult to play solid tennis. In the end I was able recover mentally and play better in key points in the third set. Thank you for the match Pawel and hope to play you soon when your should is back to 100%"  -- Pawel

Player Comments:

  • "Epic match with Pawel on a nice night for tennis at Murrayfield. Pawel had crushed me last round at his home court at Thistle so I needed to get my revenge on my familiar surface ... Every set was very close and could have gone either way. The first set went back and forth - Pawel came back from 3-5 down and won the tiebreak with two beautiful winners. The second set was another close affair. We both held serve almost the whole way; I got one break for the difference. Pawel got off to a quick start in the deciding set. I was able to get a break in the fourth game after several deuce points, and I was helped along with some (un)fortunate luck with the net tape. Many thanks Pawel; hope to play again soon, and best wishes with your matches. "  -- John

  • "Excellent match with Radoslav on a nice morning for tennis. Very close sets that could have gone either way. The second set was full of very long rallies and close games. Radoslav fought off multiple match points as I could not put him away. I finally pulled through in the tiebreak thanks to a couple very lucky shots .. Thanks Radoslav, hope to play again soon, and best wishes with the rest of the your matches. "  -- John

Player Comments:

  • "Great match with Chris in windy but playable conditions. First set was close; Chris has a devastating slice shot that really wore me down. In the second set, Chris upped his serve and his overall game for a well-deserved victory. Chris made very few errors and really optimized the conditions and surface. Thanks Chris, best wishes with the rest of your matches. "  -- John

Player Comments:

  • "It was an extremely windy game, which really affected the game substantially. On the one end of the court you had a tailwind and the other a headwind, and there were strong gusts from the side, so it really was something different. We both played quite conservatively I think due to this, and I managed to come away with the win. But would love to play again under more ideal weather, it would be a very different game I think"  -- Nicholas

Player Comments:

  • "Unfortunately, the match wasn't much of a competition, Emm took the win very comfortably I would say. It was tough conditions this morning with a lot of wind which wreaked havoc on the serving game, it was probably better to be the receiver today. Nonetheless, Emm played really great attacking tennis and was comfortably the victor. "  -- Nicholas

  • "It was a really enjoyable game with Andrew. Unfortunately for Andrew, I think I played some of the better tennis I've played so far this league. Nonetheless, there were a few moments in the match where it felt like it was going to go either way. I enjoyed playing at Andrew's club, the surface was fun to play on, and thanks to Andrew for organising and for the great sportsmanship. "  -- Nicholas

Player Comments:

  • "We braved the Scottish weather which was tame enough for a solid game of tennis. With courts slightly wet I managed to utilise some skidding slices in the wind which proved to be effective to draw some errors. I was lucky Harry hasn't being playing much as he has a reliable serve and forehand which would cause damage on his day! Best of luck in your future games!"  -- Cameron
Reveal CommentCameron Whyte bt Andrew Murray (Mar 5) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Great night for tennis on the Lano Clay surface. From the start Andrew and I were battling through some long deuce games that kept the momentum on edge throughout. In set 1 & 2 the pattern emerged where the early games went my way by sealing some crucial points with the forehand. Andrew resisted and was channeling the tennis legend with the same name by throwing lobs over my head landing near the lines! A close match and thanks to Andrew for hosting! "  -- Cameron

The second set, Filip mounted a comeback from 5-2 to 5-4 and was taking the momentum. Thanks to some good first serves and a Djokovic-esque ;) passing shot I managed to seal the second set. Well played and best of luck for the future matches I am sure you will do well!"  -- Cameron

  • "Such a tight first set! Long rallies and many deuces. I managed to clinch it in the end and that set me up well for the 2nd set. Although, a shaky start at 0-40 in the first game of the 2nd set, I managed to regain concentration and take the game. I adjusted my game and became more tactical in the 2nd set, managing to win the big points. Bart served some very nice serves in the first set but lost some consistency and the match went on. The 2nd set also had many long rallies, which isn't reflected in the scoreline. Thanks for the game. Looking forward to the next one!"  -- Helen
