Reveal CommentAndrew Butcher bt Harry Seddon (Apr 8) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "A very blustery day at Eaton Park made for difficult tennis conditions. Both of us never got chance to play our best tennis in a match full of cautious shot making and adjusting to the wind. Although I took a quick 3-0 lead, Harry soon pegged me back with some lovely angled volleys and.wide serves. I thought I had blown it as I went 0-40 as I served for the set at 5-4. Some how I hung on and after several deuces took the set. Had that game gone to Harry, the match could have gone either way. The second set was more of the same but we went with serve until I broke to go 4-3 ahead. Ultimately, Harry played the better shots but I probably played the percentages better. Good luck with your remaining matches Harry."  -- Andrew
Reveal CommentLiam Seaman bt Andrew Butcher (Apr 6) 6-4, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A match played in a mixture of conditions: Sun, Heavy wind throughout and even snow. A very close 1st set that could've went either way followed by a 2nd set that flattered a 6-0 scoreline. Conditions were tough which makes the score look lopsided as we've played previously and had a close match on another day it would've been the same. Thanks for the match Andrew good to play you again and best of luck for your other matches"  -- Liam

Player Comments:

  • "Managed to play in the only 2 hour window of dry weather. However, it was still challenging as it was very blustery especially during the first and third sets. Even so we had a really enjoyable match with lots of long rallies using all of the court. We had many games going to deuce which could have gone either way. Thanks Nania and Sandra for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of tennis."  -- Linda

Reveal CommentLiliya Serazetdinova & Linda May bt Julie Rolle & Peter Mundy (Oct 6) 7-6 (7-3), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "After a couple of issues with the rain - we had to move the match indoors due to the deluge and even then it was touch and go whether we'd be able to play because the roof was leaking badly at David Lloyds. However we finally managed to get under way on the only court that wasn't soaking wet and what a very enoyable time we had. Both sets were tight, the first was very tight with lots of games going to duece. We had some great rallies using allangles the court allows. The score in the second set didn't reflect how close that was as well. The match could have gone either way. Thank you Liliya for finding a court at the 11th hour and thank you Julie and Peter for agreeing to split the costs of the court."  -- Linda
