Collapse AllNottingham Parks Singles - Round 22 | Thursday 11 June 2020 to Wednesday 5 August 2020 (Midpoint: Wednesday 8 July 2020)

It was fantastic to have 5 groups in the league this time round and to welcome 7 new players alongside our returning regulars. Collectively you played over four fifths of all possible matches which is a great effort and shows how keen everyone was to get back on court after the lockdown. Thanks for supporting your local league and we hope to see you back in the next round!

Group Summary:

Congratulations to Craig for a successful defence of his Group 1 crown finishing on 5 wins and 2 points clear of runner up Gilbert. Craig's only defeat was to Gilbert in a great 3 setter but his extra match win was enough to secure top spot. Third placed Robert had a strong round too recording 5 wins but wasn't helped by being slower off the mark in terms of match scheduling and hence not earning the midway bonus points. Some great tennis all round!

Nik is clearly an experienced competitor with a solid game that was too much for my inconsistency. He went up quickly in each set and while I pegged him back a bit in both the result was never really in doubt. Thoroughly enjoyed my first singles match in 6 years though and looking forward to getting match sharp over the course of this round. "  -- Andy
