It is always very tough when playing Philip as he never gives up and ensures I work very hard to win every game. We both had to do lots of running and moved each other around the court effectively. With the deciding set going to tie break I just managed to get over the line. Very challenging match and thank you Vikas for an unforgettable match! All the best"  -- Aaron
  • "Another tough game for me but no regrets as I was able to hit lot of winners. In the end I misjudged few lobs and it did cost me the game. I was quite satisfied to come back from 1-5 in 3rd set and took it to 6-5. I enjoyed this game thoroughly." -- Vikas

Reveal CommentNimesh Christian bt Lynn Swan (Apr 30) 7-5, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "The match started at 7am on Sat 24 Apr 2021. Lynn was playing for the first time after lockdown still was hitting the balls very skillfully and controlling the game up to 5-5 in first set. A couple of missed chances allowed the first set to finish on 7-5. The second set started swiftly and game of breaking opponents serves continued to 3-3. Sadly the court booking time was over and so was the car parking. We agreed to resume today i.e. 30 Apr 2021 and played at West Park. Lynn choose the option to resume from 3-3 in 2nd set rather than starting a new set as offered. Played well but match had to end on 6-4. We carried on practicing and ended up 5-5 if it was said to be 3rd set :-) Well Played Lynn and All the very Best for future matches"  -- Nimesh

Hugh dominated the second set easily and the third was again a hard-fought battle, closer than the scoreline suggests. Kudos to Hugh, he was definitely the better player today, but I managed to grind it out in the end. With his smart shot selection, strong serve and all-around game, he is indeed the player to beat and he deserves to be placed in a higher group. • "Really enjoyed my match with Ade who is super friendly which is what it’s all about. We had plenty of good battles at deuce and some really energetic all court play throughout. I was lucky to find a rhythm because his first serve and cross court forehands can be deadly! Scoreline isn’t reflective of the play either; this was a hard fought match with some great plays from Ade. We played a 3rd set with the time we had left and that went with serve til the end, both of us going for our shots, and he took it 6-4. Great to meet you Ade ✌️"  -- Hugh

  • "Hugh started of well 5 .0 up at one point. The second set was a complete contrast to the first, with both of us enjoying the rallies. 3rd set was even all the way right until tie break. Hugh lost his focus at the worst time and gifted a few points with unforced errors which basically allowed me to win the match. Hugh is technically the best player I've played against, his only 2nd league match that he has ever played as well. With a little more match practice/experience I have no doubts he will be the player to beat. "  -- Steven
