#3 - Meet new people

This is a big one, and depending on your personality it can be really easy or a bit more challenging. Humans are social creatures, we all need friends, and finding a shared interest with another person is a fun experience.

A huge part of Local Tennis Leagues is the community of players who have made it what it is for the past 15 years – some of you have been around since day one, whilst others have joined just recently. Everyone can find their place in their Local League.

The practicalities? Since you’re joining a League local to you, you’re going to meet people who live in your area, so you’ve already got two things in common – tennis and location – which is already plenty to chat about. If you’re a little more nervous, rest assured, when you’re playing matches you’re both focused on the tennis, and if it goes well, you may even have time for a coffee together post-match!
