Michael and Stuart both went into their group three contest with two wins from two, so the question on everyone's lips was whose unbeaten record was going to go?

In a match that started out in the early evening,  there was nothing separating Michael and Stuart over the first two sets. Ultimately, this turned out to be the Local Tennis Leagues version of Andy Murray's match at the CITI Open last night, as the two players battled out a late night decider, under the indoor lights, to conclude their exhausting encounter in a little under three hours.

"What a match! So close throughout with some great rallies and amazing shot making from both sides. I started strongly by taking the first set 6-3. At 3-3 in the second, Stuart took the next two and then closed it out 6-4. With darkness setting in at 2-1 in the third, we headed indoors. Stuart adapted quicker, taking the next four games to go 5-2 up and it looked to be the deciding blow. But I managed to claw it back and force a tiebreak. The breaker was suitably tight throughout but I won the last 3 points to clinch it. A really enjoyable match and one that will be tough to beat the next time we play. Thanks Stuart and good luck with the rest of the league!" Michael

A round of applause to you both for your efforts! Now Michael's win puts him into the lead at the top of group three, but with plenty of tennis still left to play, will he still be there at the end of the round?
