Rafa Nadal and his Academy come to the aid of those affected by Mallorca's devastating floods

Above is the centre court at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Mallorca with Rafa and the staff, residents and students movingly showing their respect for the lives lost in the flash floods that hit the neighbouring town of Sant Llorenç this week. The picture was shared by the ATP on its twitter feed and throughout the week, social media has been abuzz with tributes to the effort put in by the Academy...

The ATP's tweet and story summed up the reaction of the tennis community to the tragic events in Mallorca. There was sympathy and condolences for those who had been affected and tributes to those who died. 

News of the tragedy quickly spread through social media and conventional news outlets. Soon it was clear that Rafa was anything but a bystander:
