- "The match was a fierce battle, fought by both of us mostly against ourselves! Silviu could not find his top game consistently as he is not a fan of the surface we played on, while I was fighting with the fatigue. The result was a roller coaster match with loads of momentum swings (and many good shots). After two pretty even sets, at 4-2 in the decider Silviu looked like he will to run away with it, but his concentration dropped and I somehow managed to restart and to claim the win. My only regret is that Silviu could not join me for the for the post match beer(s) - I'm sure we'll put this right next time! " -- Vlad

- "A very enjoyable match with Vlad! We've had some close matches over the last few years and this was up there with the closest of them. I got off to a fast start to take the first set quite quickly. Vlad improved a lot in the second and I tried to win as many points and games as I could as Vlad dominated the play. The third was very close all the way through with only one break of serve. I felt a little fortunate to win as Vlad suffered with cramp from the middle of the final set onwards. - "What a great match to return to the league after a break of 8 months. Jose welcomed me with flawless tennis and raced to 5-1 serving for the first set. With nothing to lose I cut down on my errors with a bit of nerves on Jose's end I managed to win few games back to back levelling 5-5 and took the set to tie break. None of us wanted to play a 3 setter after a long first set. Second set was also equally competitive with a lot of close games which the scoreline didn't suggest. - "Wow! What an epic game which took approx. 2hrs 30min and two separate days to complete. Jez and I were very evenly matched - we had some great rallies and lots of games went to deuce. I took the 1st set and was winning the 2nd set 3-0 when Jez came back at me with all guns blazing. He pulled it back to 3-3 and when the set reached 5-5 we had to call it a night. We re-scheduled and Jez took the 2nd set after being match point down on the tie break. It was very close... we went into the final and deciding set... We both broke each others serve a number of times, it really could have gone either way in the end. Thankfully I managed to break and hold my serve to win.
