Player Comments:

  • "Danny played a good steady match today with very few mistakes in either set. I don't think I played a good match, I think I had one of those days where nothing seemed to work but Danny stayed focused and did what he had to do to win. we'll play again at some point but credit has to go to the winner,on the day he was the better player and deserved to win. We done mate!"  -- Brian

Match of the Group:

Reveal CommentRyan Paden bt Andy Porter (Aug 31) 6-0, 3-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Great game with Andy again. We played out a close match in the last round too. He adapted his game to target my (many) weaknesses and I couldn't have complained if the match ended up going his way rather than mine."  -- Ryan
Reveal CommentBrian Bontrager bt Robert Evans (Aug 30) 6-2, 3-6, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Three very unenjoyable set. Too many junk balls, negative, ugly shots, ugly games, lots of deuce games, other elements that made the match quite tedious. I'm happy that I won but I won't say I enjoyed it."  -- Brian
  • "A competitive 2 hour match. I think Brian is the better tennis player and my drop shots could not save me in the end, well done on the win!" -- Robert
Reveal CommentRobert Evans bt Ryan Paden (Aug 29) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great game! "  -- Robert
Reveal CommentBrian Bontrager bt Ryan Paden (Aug 26) 6-3, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Ryan has a very awkward and unorthodox but effective style of play, it took me to 3 all first set in the first to decipher the spins and slices. I think we both hit some decent shots, early in the first set Ryan was better at his game than I was at mine but I broke at three all and I was ok after than. Good game though"  -- Brian
