Reveal CommentNicholas Newton bt Bradley Farrell (Oct 1) 6-0, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Tough conditions with a damp court and glare from the sun. But I played my best stuff in the 1st set while Brad was still getting used to it. He did much better in the 2nd set while my level dropped a bit, which made it very close."  -- Nicholas
Reveal CommentPuranjay Das bt Carlos Tavares (Sep 24) 6-4, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Perfect weather for tennis though both of us were carrying some ailments. Both sets were close and I read lucky to win the second one after being two points away from losing the set at 4-5 (30-30). Thanks for the match and all the best for the rest of the league."  -- Puranjay
Reveal CommentAaron King bt Bradley Farrell (Sep 21) 6-4, 6-4

Reveal CommentPuranjay Das bt Jarek Pieta (Sep 18) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Another sunny day in Swindon, though a bit windy for my liking. Jarek started well but I was lucky with three lucky net chords in the first three games that helped me stay ahead through the match. Thanks for the match and all the best for the remaining matches."  -- Puranjay
Reveal CommentCarlos Tavares bt Jarek Pieta (Sep 17) 6-4, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A pleasant morning to play tennis although there was same wind, which affected Jarek’s game more then mine.We all have bad days and good days and today wasn’t Jarek’s day.The first set was well contested but the second set was uneven maybe because of the wind and also lack of confidence. Good luck for the next games Jarek. Carlos Tavares "  -- Carlos
Reveal CommentPuranjay Das bt Bradley Farrell (Sep 17) 6-4, 2-6, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "A match played in beautiful weather. I managed to start well, taking a 5-2 lead. Then Bradley won 11 of the next 14 games to win the second set and take a lead in the third. I managed to find rhythm and won 5 games in a row to win the match. Well played and all the best for the remaining matches."  -- Puranjay
Maciej Smajda bt Jarek Pieta (Sep 15) Walkover

Player Comments:

  • "Tom had quite a few game points he couldn't take, so definitely deserved a couple of games."  -- Nicholas

Reveal CommentCarlos Tavares bt Maciej Smajda (Sep 11) 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3)

Player Comments:

  • "A very emotional game. I really enjoyed playing with Maciej. I had to sweat a lot and believe that it was possible to win. First set won 6/4. Second set I lost 3/6 ( game very well played by Maciej ). Third set Maciej was very rightly winning by 2/5 and serving to win the set but faithful to what I believe that “ the game only ends when there is a winner” I recovered from 2/5 to 6/5 making Maciej the 6/6. In the tiebreak, losing by 1/3,I recovered again and won by 7/3. Nice morning to play tennis and a great opponent. Good luck for you in the next games. Carlos "  -- Carlos
Reveal CommentAaron King bt Puranjay Das (Sep 10) 6-2, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "I got off to a good start in the first set. The second set was much closer, with Puranjay hitting some excellent first serves and some aces."  -- Aaron
Reveal CommentAaron King bt Jarek Pieta (Sep 9) 6-3, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "It was on serve in the first set until 3-3. I found a rhythm from that point and managed to maintain the momentum. Some solid first serves from Jarek in the first set and some very good passing shots from him when I approached the net. Quite tough light with the dark clouds and a lot of noise. It was difficult to maintain concentration for both of us during this match. "  -- Aaron
Reveal CommentNicholas Newton bt Maciej Smajda (Sep 4) 6-0, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Maciej started to find some good consistency in the 2nd set and most games went to deuce. Definitely a tough set!"  -- Nicholas
Reveal CommentAaron King bt Carlos Tavares (Sep 3) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Very close in the first set. I managed a strong lead and Carlos made a good come back to level the set at 3-3. I managed to adjust and regain the momentum. Some good shots played by Carlos. I found a good rhythm in the second set and managed to keep the lead this time. "  -- Aaron
Reveal CommentNicholas Newton bt Aaron King (Sep 1) 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Really tough battle with Aaron, with lots of enjoyable hard hitting rallies. The first set was pretty even until 4-4, when I took the last 2. Then Aaron hit top form at the start of the 2nd, hitting me off the court to lead 4-0. I just hung on hoping his form would dip again, and luckily for me it did, though it still could have gone either way."  -- Nicholas
Reveal CommentNicholas Newton bt Puranjay Das (Aug 31) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "I played the more consistent tennis today in breezy conditions. Puranjay couldn't get his serve firing either, usually one of his weapons."  -- Nicholas

Reveal CommentUchenna Adimonye bt Dean Mitchell (Oct 2) 5-7, 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "First time playing Dean, and what a match! The match lasted about ~2hrs 45mins overrunning the initial 2hr slot. We had to extend the booking and get the flood flights on to finish. First set took over 1hr 15mins with Dean coming from behind to take it 5-7. In the second set, thankfully, my serves improved and I started hitting my shots a bit better. I lost count of the number of deuces we played, most games went to dueces. The match could have gone either way with both of us nearing exhaustion towards the end, but I somehow managed to hold on to win. Great tennis from both sides tonight. All the best with your remainig games and I look forward to playing you again. "  -- Uchenna
Reveal CommentMartin Lee bt Tony Wilson (Oct 1) 6-4, 7-6 (7-4)

Player Comments:

  • "A really enjoyable hard fought battle in windy conditions . Just the first game had 6 deuces..I eventual won it. Tony got the better of me and the conditions and got a few games lead before I managed to peg him back to edge the first set. Much the same in the second set with many deuce games and which I just edged in the tie break. Almost out of time and good light by then too. Look forward to another match up."  -- Martin
Reveal CommentUchenna Adimonye bt Samantha Towler-Wilson (Sep 29) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Good game with some long rallies, and a couple of unforced errors on both sides. Sammi went up 2-0 in the first set, but I was able to settle in and fight my way back to win it 6-3. Look forward to playing you again and all the best in your remaining games."  -- Uchenna
Reveal CommentDean Mitchell bt Martin Lee (Sep 25) 1-6, 6-1, 6-2

Reveal CommentTony Wilson bt Samantha Towler-Wilson (Sep 20) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A lovely morning to have a game of tennis. Some good tennis played on both sides of the net. Sammi's serve somewhat deserted her today which gave me a few easy points but otherwise a good enjoyable game. Thanks"  -- Tony

Player Comments:

  • "Great match, some great points played. Was very tough battling the wind "  -- Samantha
Reveal CommentUchenna Adimonye bt Lucie Barrass (Sep 16) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Very good fun game with Lucie. The scoreline doesn't reflect the match. Lucie nearly broke my serve in the first game of the first set with about 4 deuces before I managed to win it. The last game of the second set was similar and had no fewer than 8 deuces! Thanks for the match and all the best for your remaining games."  -- Uchenna
Reveal CommentAbhishek Sharma bt Paul Stevens (Sep 15) 6-4, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "The last time we played, I wasn’t able to give Paul much of a match but this time around it was an absolute slugfest. Nearly every game went to deuce, including the final game where Paul managed to keep saving 5 match points in a row! The score in the second set doesn’t do justice to Paul’s persistence and play - he had me running all over the court! Really really enjoyed the match and look forward to the next time we play 🙂"  -- Abhishek
Reveal CommentAbhishek Sharma bt Samantha Towler-Wilson (Sep 13) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "We both had a lot of unforced errors but good match overall. Luckily managed to finish just before it started raining too so bonus! Probably also one of the only matches I’ve played so far where I was literally crying with laughter, especially in the second set. 😂"  -- Abhishek
Reveal CommentAbhishek Sharma bt Uchenna Adimonye (Sep 10) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Always fun to play against Uche - we both started off a bit rusty but got going properly after the first 3 games. Overall a great match with lots of long rallies and a lot of running! The extra 2 sets we played after the match as practice were really great too with some equally long rallies, especially some deuces which just seemed endless!"  -- Abhishek
Reveal CommentTony Wilson bt Lucie Barrass (Sep 10) 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A good game and I think the score would have been a lot closer had Lucie not gifted me so many double faults points. Some good rallies and an enjoyable match played in good spirit. Thanks "  -- Tony
Reveal CommentTony Wilson bt Uchenna Adimonye (Sep 2) 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A really close fought first two sets with Uche getting the better of me in the first set and going 5-2, 30 love up in the second. Somehow I manged to hold on and take it to a tie break. I think the worm got in Uche's head having been two points away from finishing the match as the third set produced a lot of unforced errors. Great game Uche. Thanks."  -- Tony
