Collapse AllWaltham Forest Singles - Round 13 | Thursday 25 April 2019 to Wednesday 19 June 2019 (Midpoint: Wednesday 22 May 2019)

Nearly 60 per cent of matches were played this round and it looks like it was a very entertaining eight-weeks of tennis. We had quite a few returners and a couple of new players and all of you make up a very attractive, fair-minded tennis community. Thank you for all your tennis and for all your support of the league. Here's to the summer round!

Group Summary:

Andy continues his good form from last round and though he didn't win a match this time he played enough good tennis to claim the runner's up spot. In part this was because he claimed his bonus points, but he also got points for sets won in tough three-setters (including one with James, the eventual group winner). Third-placed Anthony also took a point off James, so well done to him too. But no doubt who the stole the show this time. Fantastic run James, the gold is yours!

Group Summary:

Tomasz and the Stuart snuck ahead in a group where everyone won at least one match to battle it out for the top spot. Stuart actually beat Tomasz in their head-to-head but Stuart also concede a match (a thriller with Mark) and Tomasz managed to get one more match played and won. So thanks to the maths, the group is Tomasz' by a point! Well done Tomasz, a great way to celebrate a post-injury return to tennis and well-done everyone for a very entertaining round.

Group Summary:

Even if Darren has the occasional (self-admitted) problems remembering the score, our newcomer had no problems remembering how to win matches and powered his way to the top of the group. It was a terrific debut performance which will see him promoted next time. Meanwhile Warren got a couple of nice wins under his belt to earn second place, and Christian took away the bronze. Shame Adebiyi didn't get going this time, but let's hope he, along with all the rest of you, can get more great matches in the summer round.
