Player Comments:

  • "An absolute epic match- some of the longest rallies I’ve been involved in..four seasons in a rally - relentless. Great fun but should think James and I will need plenty of R&R. James played very consistently and took a tight first set - I managed to pull out a run of games to take the second set and prevailed in a match tiebreak as the sun set- thanks for a great game!"  -- Paul

Reveal CommentDean Proctor bt James Castelino (Apr 26) 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Epic and exhausting. Played at the lovely Herne Bay courts but took me a while to get used to the (slow) speed. James pretty easily won the first set, being a machine at the net and making very few mistakes. He makes you work for every single point. Second sey I dug in and survived one match point. The tie break went my way and the third set was only marginally easier as we both gotvtired. Great game with a lovely fella. Thanks James."  -- Dean
Reveal CommentDean Proctor bt Alecky Blythe (Apr 25) 6-0, 5-1 Alecky Blythe Retired

Player Comments:

  • "The comeback had just begun as Alecky succumbed to a muscle injury. I admire the way she remaind aggressive and continued to go for her shots, never becoming negative or dinky. The best way to improve. I enjoyed the game and was looking forward to some powerful rallies before injury struck. Hope you get back to playing soon. Dean"  -- Dean

Player Comments:

  • "Always a great match when I play Gareth and this was no exception. Very close to having a 3rd set as I crawled over the finish line as Gareth grew in confidence as the game went on. Some of his shots were excellent and I just had to admire them.. I just did enough to win today but it could have been a different story. Fine margins."  -- James
