Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt Sophie Kolb (Oct 16) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet Sophie on a beautiful non-sunny day in dreary October.. Due to my racket strings breaking during the warm up, Sophie kindly grabbed me her spare racket! The first set started tightly with some loose shots from us both. However I manage to run away with the set with consistent hitting. In the 2nd we had some great rallies, with aggressive hitting from both players. In the end I managed to go on a game winning spree and closed the set. Sophie definitely won the match on winners hit, with some clinical hitting! Great to meet you and talk about tennis! Enjoy the rest of Indian Wells! Jack "  -- Jack
Reveal CommentJames Fowler bt David Barratt (Oct 10) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt James Fowler (Oct 7) 7-5, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet James, on a very busy evening at the Uni! Very close 1st set that could have gone either way.. With some entertaining rallies and both of us making each other run around the court! James has great angles on his shots.! Then we just kept breaking each other and eventually I held to close the set 7-5. In the 2nd set I took more risks with my ground strokes and James just didn't play as consistently with his timing. Which meant I manage to break away and win the match. Thanks for the game and look forward to playing again one day soon."  -- Jack

Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt James Castelino (Oct 1) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet James on an rainy evening (thankfully we were indoors!).. 1st set was relatively one sided with James not quite getting going with his game and I managed to serve well from the beginning. However 1st game of the 2nd set was a long deuce battle on my serve, where we both kept making unforced errors on game point! Eventually James won the game and we both had a long chat to recover after!. The 2nd set was a lot closer with some longer rallies and break points saved. James was lobbing me for fun at one point! In the end I managed to gain a double break and played more aggressive with my play which paid off. Thanks for the game and for coming to Canterbury. See you next time. "  -- Jack
Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt Lucy Clarke (Sep 29) 6-0, 6-1

  • "Lovely to meet Lucy on a very windy and variable evening! (conditions changing every few minutes! First set was tight in several games but I managed to get though them. Some very entertaining long rallies in parts of the set with consistant play from Lucy. 6-0 was generous to be honest. In the 2nd again the set started closely, but I managed to break away and close the match. Thanks for the Match and the enjoyable chats throughout the game!"  -- Jack

Third set turned into a battle of who could serve out the match an fortunately that was me! Thanks for the epic 3 hour match played indoors on the luxurious new uni courts."  -- David

Reveal CommentJames Castelino bt Lucy Clarke (Sep 12) 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Really enjoyable game with Lucy. Lucy hadn't played for a long time - and I could see that her serve and volley was coming back the longer the game lasted.. Scoreline didn't really reflect the amount of deuce games we had and if i played Lucy in a few more matches the score would be closer or possibly a reverse. thanks for playing Lucy hope you enjoyed your first game back in years."  -- James
Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt Calum Maclean (Sep 12) 7-5, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet Calum on a lovely warm early morning Sunday. First set started tightly with some good serving from Calum. I moved to 5-2 up after a some consistant play, but then Calum battled back to 5-5 within 10mins! I managed to then break and hold serve to take the set 7-5. In the 2nd set Calum played 2 aggressive games and was 2-0up within no time. Again my forehand decided to wake up from its sleeping chamber and I managed to fight back and win the set 6-3. Best shot of the day has to come from Calum's impressive lob in the opening set! Played to perfection.! Thanks for the Match 😁"  -- Jack
Reveal CommentJack Mitchell bt David Barratt (Sep 9) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Lovely to see Dave and play competitively again. Dave was 3-1 up in the 1st set and had chances to double break. I managed to hang on... just. Then I just managed to keep edging games to win the set 6-3. In the 2nd David turned into defense and I played more aggressive with the forehand and backhand which paid off. Some entertaining rallies and up and down serving from us both made the play interesting. Thanks for the Match. See you next time. "  -- Jack

Player Comments:

  • "Great 1st set played. Duncan came from 4-1 down to 5-5.. Point away from a tie-break. I managed to just nick it 7-5. Second set I managed to pull away.. Overall Great game with many deuce games and great rallies. Thanks for a good game Duncan."  -- James
Reveal CommentJames Castelino bt Calum Maclean (Sep 6) 7-6 (8-6), 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Great game with Calum. The first set could have gone either way. We both had set points especially in the tie break which went to 8-6. Even though light was fading we had some magnificent rallies. The light did effect the 2nd set but wanted to thank Calum for continuing to play. I think I could play Calum many times and the result would be different each time.. thanks for game at short notice. "  -- James
